Some hemp producers will bleach their hemp with chlorine bleach in order to make it whiter. Sometimes, they add color. Chlorine bleach can cause deadly dioxins in the environment if it is combined with organic matter in our drinking water systems. For green consumers, chlorine-free processed hemp is the best choice.
